LAMDA GUARD
Lamda Guard creates state-of-the-art optically transparent thin-film that uses metamaterials, also known as nano-composites, that selectively block light from specific colors or wavelengths. These thin-films can be applied to virtually any glass or clear plastic surface (e.g. eyewear, protective goggles, windscreens, etc.) to block hazardous laser light aimed at pilots, law enforcement and military personnel, as well as those that work with high intensity lasers.
Aircraft Solutions
Laser strikes are a serious safety and security hazard as lasers can damage a pilot’s eyes and cause temporary blindness during critical phases of flight such as landing and take-off. Lamda Guard metaAIR™ protects the vision of those who fly, without interfering with visibility - both day and night.
Eyewear Solutions
Lasers are being used to disrupt police operations at night, and are used by and against military personnel. Protecting the vision of those who serve, while enabling them to see clearly is the purpose of Lamda Guard metaVISOR thin-film.
Why laser attacks are a growing concern
High intensity hand held laser pointers are easy to obtain so they are everywhere today and in many cases are very disruptive and dangerous. Protecting pilots, military personnel and police officers against deliberate and accidental exposure is a growing priority.
Laser attacks are a serious safety and security hazard as lasers can damage a pilot’s eyes and cause temporary blindness during critical phases of flight such as landing and take-off. Learn more about these risks at LaserPointerSafety.com.
A report issued by the FBI cited a dramatic increase in laser strike incidents in the United States alone. Growing from roughly 300 strikes in 2005 to nearly 4000 in 2013, a 1,273% increase. According to the FAA there were 3,960 aircraft laser strike incidents in 2013. This constitutes an average of almost 11 per day. The report can be found here.
