Dr. George Palikaras
President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Palikaras is the co-founder of MTI. He holds a Ph.D. from Loughborough University in Metamaterial Technology and is a technology expert and innovator, with a wealth of experience in modelling, designing, manufacturing and developing solutions for wireless, biomedical as well as nanotechnology applications. George started his career as a research scientist at Queen Mary University London (QMUL) where he developed practical business skills and abilities alongside his scientific work. During this period he organized and managed several research open days, workshops and exhibitions, showcasing the organisation's latest technology capabilities to external companies, and presented his research at more than 30 international conferences and seminars. His contribution to the University has led to him being awarded a prestigious Visiting Research Fellow position. Dr. Palikaras has 4 patent applications pending and has authored several journal publications as well as a book chapter. He is also a member of several professional associations (IoP, IET, IEEE) and societies (AP-S, MTT-S). As the CEO of MTI he uses his entrepreneurial mindset, together with strong leadership and business skills, to set a strategy and vision to the Company where he is responsible for the development of the general culture and direction of the business.
Paul McLaughlin
VP of Business Development
Mr. McLaughlin is the co-founder of MTI and holds a degree in Business Administration from University of New Brunswic. He is a dynamic, serial entrepreneur and business investor with a wealth of experience in various industry sectors. In recognition of his work he was recently listed by the Wallace McCain Institute as one of New Brunswick's top growth entrepreneurs and appointed as a StartUp Canada representative for the province of New Brunswick Council. As COO, Paul is responsible for the daily operation of the company and given the close working relationship with the CEO, is responsible for the development, design, operation, and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the firm's products. He ensures that business operations are efficient and effective and that the proper management of resources, distribution of goods and services to customers is conducted.
Dr. Themos Kallos
Chief Science Officer
Dr. Kallos is the co-founder of MTI, an applied physicist with extensive experience in high-energy physics, metamaterials, wireless communications and electromagnetic simulations. He leads the Company's research programs and is responsible for the scientific progress, the management of the Research & Development plans, and building the capacity of MTI?s research team.
Kelly Johnstone
Chief Finance Officer
Mrs. Johnstone has been the general manager and Vice President of Finance for Cobham Surveillance Canada. She specializes in turnarounds and restructuring, financial performance management, business coaching, mergers acquisitions & disposals, and back office transformations. She is responsible for MTI's finances and the efficiency of its operation.
Dr. Quinton Fivelman
Chief Intellectual Property Officer
Dr. Fivelman is an innovation management expert with strong experience in Intellectual Property Rights, commercialisation of technology and entrepreneurship training. He has worked across government, business, and the research community in several IP management and commercial due diligence projects. Dr Fivelman brings to MTI a wealth of expertise in technology market assessment and is responsible for guiding and managing the company's intellectual property strategy.
