Maurice Guitton
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Guitton is one of Canada's most experience CEOs with over 44 years of experience and more than 25 patents and several business awards, including the export achievement award and Atlantic Canada top 50 CEO's. He is currently the President of the Atlantic Network of the French Chamber of Commerce in Canada. In 1967, he started working at Rossignol Skis Company in France and made advances there in composites manufacturing. Composites are materials used in aerospace technology to fabricate components ranging from aircraft panels to solar panels. In 1987, he was recruited by Cellpack Aerospace with the objective of starting an aerospace organization in Canada. From 1993 to 2003, he was executive Vice President and President of Composites Atlantic Limited and in 2004 he became CEO of the Company. After a long and successful career, he has recently retired as CEO of Composites Atlantic Limited. He belongs to many professional associations, where he mentors people by sharing his experience and knowledge. The French government has honored him as a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. At MTI Mr. Guitton's role is to give advise and support the management team. He also helps shape the strategy of the Company and makes relevant introductions to clients, suppliers, and partners.
Dr. George Palikaras
President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Palikaras is the co-founder of MTI. He holds a Ph.D. from Loughborough University in Metamaterial Technology and is a technology expert and innovator, with a wealth of experience in modelling, designing, manufacturing and developing solutions for wireless, biomedical as well as nanotechnology applications. George started his career as a research scientist at Queen Mary University London (QMUL) where he developed practical business skills and abilities alongside his scientific work. During this period he organized and managed several research open days, workshops and exhibitions, showcasing the organisation's latest technology capabilities to external companies, and presented his research at more than 30 international conferences and seminars. His contribution to the University has led to him being awarded a prestigious Visiting Research Fellow position. Dr. Palikaras has 4 patent applications pending and has authored several journal publications as well as a book chapter. He is also a member of several professional associations (IoP, IET, IEEE) and societies (AP-S, MTT-S). As the CEO of MTI he uses his entrepreneurial mindset, together with strong leadership and business skills, to set a strategy and vision to the Company where he is responsible for the development of the general culture and direction of the business.
Paul McLaughlin
VP of Business Development
Mr. McLaughlin is the co-founder of MTI and holds a degree in Business Administration from University of New Brunswic. He is a dynamic, serial entrepreneur and business investor with a wealth of experience in various industry sectors. In recognition of his work he was recently listed by the Wallace McCain Institute as one of New Brunswick's top growth entrepreneurs and appointed as a StartUp Canada representative for the province of New Brunswick Council. As COO, Paul is responsible for the daily operation of the company and given the close working relationship with the CEO, is responsible for the development, design, operation, and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the firm's products. He ensures that business operations are efficient and effective and that the proper management of resources, distribution of goods and services to customers is conducted.
Robert Audoux
Outside Director
Mr. Audoux holds an MBA from Université de Moncton from which he graduated in 2005. From 2005 to 2006 he worked as a Tourism project manager with Tourism Atlantic (ACOA) and from 2006-2008 he was a sales and marketing liaison and crew support in aerospace for Tronos Canada Inc. and lead sales and marketing campaign of regional aircraft (BAE146) to South America (Air Force and Commercial Aviation). He has developed expertise and knowledge of aircraft, technical specifications, aviation regulations, flight crew and cabin crew work and responsibilities. Since 2008 he is the Director General for the French Chamber of commerce in Canada - Atlantic Network. He is currently responsible for all the operations of the organization, networking and commercial development and missions. Visiting many companies in various sectors (agriculture, aquaculture, aviation, aerospace, manufacturing) has given him insight on all manufacturing processes. He is involved in many projects with Saint Pierre et Miquelon. His expertise covers a wide area of technical, management, and business development responsibilities and has developed a large network of contacts throughout Atlantic Canada, as well as abroad.
Pierre Fournier
Outside Director
Mr. Fournier is currently President of the Triangle Group of companies with its head office located in Moncton, New Brunswick. Two of the companies in the Triangle group are manufacturing facilities located in greater the Moncton NB area, with a third manufacturing facility located in the city of Yantai in China. Pierre is an experienced entrepreneur; he started his first company at the age of 19 and has been in a management role for 20 years. He joined the Triangle Group in 2000 where he is currently employing 220 people and is responsible for all aspects and functions of new business development, product development, facility expansion, and new markets, along with the operations in China. His past responsibilities for the China project included plant layout, machine sourcing & purchasing, technical product specifications, learning local language and business practices. He is the Chairman of Atlantic Canada Homes with more than 40 distributors in Japan and speaks both Japanese and Chinese. To further expand his multinational network Pierre is a good standing member of the YPO: Young Presidents' Organization, Doing business with China network, the family Business Network and the Wallace McCain institute.
